Just been watching this inspired me to update.
The reason I hadn’t updated in a while I had been toying with the idea of the starting a new blog. A ‘fresh start’ – something more grown up and, well, better written. But then I realized that would be missing the point. A blog is a process – I have had this since 22.3.03. What I wrote at the start was badly written teenagers angst and the grammar and spelling were awful. It still is sometimes (in case you hadn’t noticed). It is some how more honest this way. Hopefully I put some effort in I will regain some readership. Checked my hit counter and it has reduced a lot. Should update my template though – new picture below compared to the template one shows it is a bit out of date.
Anyways on with the update …
I have got a new job that I start week after next at LIC (genetics laboratory as a lab technician). Very pleased, finally get to use my degree. And get away from Sitel. It’s only a 3 month contract to start with and less pay. But to actually get some experience in the industry I feel it’s worth it. And If I hate it I am only suck there for 3 months.
Have taken the last week off (as did Pieter) and have a very quite but restorative break.
I have finally managed to complete reading a novel, kept getting books out from the library and then not finding the time to read them. Pieter got lots of wood work done; we now have a new coffee table and some shelves. Also went on a day trip to Auckland and went shopping and saw once of the film festival films. And I finally got my bike fixed – only had to drop it off and it cost $25 to fix. Not sure why I had procrastinated about that so much. So now I can bike to work – reducing the size of me and my carbon foot print. Yay for self proclaimed virtuous multi tasking!
Anyways I should sign off, time for shower and sleep. Want to be ready to face the pile of emails in my inbox at work that would have built up over the week I have been away tomorrow
